For the purpose of saving energy, protecting environment and effectively carrying out the energy conservation certification, Management Measures for Energy-saving Product Certification was issued in China in September 2004. According to relevant standards and technical requirements, a product is certified as the energy-saving product by the certification body with the energy conservation certificate and mark. China Energy Conservation Certification is a kind of guarantee mark (logo) which belongs to the category of product quality certification. It means that energy-consuming products are in line with the specified energy efficiency standards or technical requirements, but it does not indicate the degree. It usually applies to the products ranking top 20% for energy efficiency and is similar to the Energy Star in the United States.
