he United Arab Emirates Ministry of Industry & Advanced Technology | وزارة الصناعة والتكنولوجيا المتقدمة issued a new WTO TBT notification on 23 July, 2026, launching a public consultation on the following two draft regulations. The final date for comments is 21 September, 2026.

Brazil Implements Restrictions on Hazardous Substances (RoHS) in Electrical and Electronic Equipment

On July 10, 2026, the Brazilian National Environmental Council (CONAMA) published Resolution No. 516, imposing Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) on electrical and electronic equipment sold in the Brazilian market. The resolution took effect on the publication date and will be implemented in phases for different restricted substances.

Launch of the new “Maneh” system for granting Saudi Quality Mark (SQM) Licenses

Recently, the SASO, Saudi Standards Metrology and Quality Organization has released an official notice stating that the existing certification system "Jeem1" has been officially upgraded to the new "Maneh" system. Applications for Saudi Quality Mark (SQM) licenses and the SASO IECEE Recognition Certificate (SIRC) will be gradually migrated to the new "Maneh" system (https://lnkd.in/gwRG9E_3).
