UK Energy Saving Trust launched the Energy Saving Recommended Program in 2000 to determine the products with the highest energy efficiency in the market. Energy Saving Recommended program adpots the simple and identifiable method to clearly indicate the energy saving optimized products for consumers. This method is the energy saving recommended label.

Energy Saving Recommended Label is supported by UK government and issued for products in line with or beyond certain energy efficiency requirements. Only when the strict energy efficiency standards are compliant with can the corresponding products be attached with the label. Energy saving recommended label is a certification mark registered with the UK Intellectual Property Office, and the products are categorized according to the energy saving characteristics. The label identifies 20% of the products with the highest energy efficiency in the market. For the purpose of obtaining the label, the products shall meet a series of strict standards. Currently, there are 24 types of energy saving recommended labels covering a total of more than 2,000 products.
